Andrew Massey

I’m a 36 year old, husband, father of two 

I Like to make music 

I’m influenced by all kinds of stuff but what’s tickling my ears at the moment are: Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Wilco, Randy Newman, Tom Waits, Clifton Chenier, the Felice Brothers, Sam Cooke, Mavis Staples, Elvis Costello, John Prine, The Clash, Joe Ely. 

I’m currently in two bands Sycamore Bones and Andrew Massey & the Midnight Americans. When I’m not playing solo gigs I’m playing with these folks. 

I write songs and play music because I enjoy the free therapy of writing and the emotion of connecting with folks through live performance. 

I would describe the emotion my music as soulful, emotional, honest, and hopeful.
